As you face the rear of the switch, data stack port #1 is on the left. Data stack port #2 is on the right.
The power stack ports are #1 on top and #2 on bottom.
Figure 5 in this Cisco document shows how they are cabled.

Hi,
When you are facing the front of the switch, the stack port is in the back (right) and the power stack port in the back on left.

Hi Reza,
Thanks for your comment, still I cannot determine the location of stack-port 1 (read number one)
The Guide only displays which are the stackports.... not the difference between number 1 and number 2.

Sander

Hi,
There is no difference between port 1 and 2. Port 1 is the top port and port 2 is the bottom port.
What are you trying to do with this information?

Hi Reza,
My goal is to see documentation were physically stack-port 1 is located... (not power-stack)
I have on a core stack of 2 switches a cable problem (#sw1port1 to #sw2port2)
When I have to remove this cable, I want to be sure were physically the port is located to make sure I pull the right cable.
There is no documentation of my believe I can read port1 is on the left and port2 is on the right....
kind regards.

Almost all Cisco devices have a hardware Installation guide that documents the physical device and illustrates the location of the various ports, connectors etc. Here's a link to the Catalyst 3850 Switch Hardware Installation Guide section and an excerpt (open in new tab to zoom) showing you the detail you asked about (and confirming Reza's correct answer)

Hi Marvin,
Thanks for supplying the answer to my question, although I believe it is not documented by cisco....
best regards.
