Hi,

I have used SDM to configure a simple Modular QoS on an Ethernet Interface.

I am puzzeled by the following output :-

Why do I see 4/4 reserved conversations on the interface ???

I dont have RSVP enabled.,

cme#show queue fastEthernet 0/0

Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0

Queueing strategy: Class-based queueing

Output queue: 0/1000/64/0 (size/max total/threshold/drops)

Conversations 0/1/256 (active/max active/max total)

Reserved Conversations 4/4 (allocated/max allocated)

Available Bandwidth 26000 kilobits/sec

The policy map is :-

cme#sh policy-map

Policy Map SDM-Pol-FastEthernet0/0

Description: POLICY MAP FOR FA0/0

Class SDMManage-FastEthernet0/0

Bandwidth remaining 8 (%) Max Threshold 64 (packets)

set dscp cs2

Class SDMVoice-FastEthernet0/0

Strict Priority

Bandwidth 49 (%)

set dscp ef

Class SDMRout-FastEthernet0/0

Bandwidth remaining 8 (%) Max Threshold 64 (packets)

set dscp cs6

Class SDMTrans-FastEthernet0/0

Bandwidth remaining 79 (%) Max Threshold 64 (packets)

set dscp af21

Class SDMSignal-FastEthernet0/0

Bandwidth remaining 5 (%) Max Threshold 64 (packets)

set dscp cs3

Class class-default

Flow based Fair Queueing

Bandwidth 0 (kbps) Max Threshold 64 (packets)

Reserved conversations are seen because of the bandwidth commands used in CBWFQ, and not due to RSVP.
