A quick confirmation on the 24 SFP ports , can we configure them at 10/100/1000 speed even if i put a fiber SFP?
Thanks for your confirmation it will be useful for me to confirm if i keep that old HP Procurve shit during transition ....
Thanks in advance !!

Hello Bilal,
the speed command might be avaialable on the CLI, but it should be effective ONLY if you have a GLC-T on the port.
Is this your case?
I would be really surprised that the speed command is supported on a fiber based SFP, if you look at the SFP that are available none of them is capable of multi speed operation, there are some 100 Mbps SFPs, then there are some 1000 Mbps SFPs all of them fiber based

Hello Giuseppe, apologies for any incorrect information that has been given. I use a copper connection using the glc-t sfp to a server that can only run at 100. So I was able to change this option(hard code in the config), and it is available to us.
Maybe the SFP type is definitely worth considering if there are certain requirements.
Your links provided are very relevant, and will rate accordingly.
Thank you.

Thanks Guiseppe this is what i needed as confirmation on the fact it's not possible with SFP fibers to have various speed only gig.
So i will need to keep alive those old HP switches who can strangely do this ...
Yeah Bilal thanks for your answer even if you were not totally wrong on the topic ....
Cheers guy and thanks again

As Giuseppe also noted, fiber ports have fixed speed. If your SFP is Gig, then the speed will be Gig and not 100/1000.
If your SFP is 100, then the speed is 100 and not 100/1000 or 10/100/1000.
