Hi ,

we have WS-C6509E-S32-GE & WS-C6509-E-FWM-K9 switches which has 6509-E , Sup 720  ,and 6700 Series line card . The other model has 6500-E chassis , FWSM and Sup 720 .

As per Cisco the above chassis part number & serial number as bundle are going to be end of life by Feb 2017 .

Can we upgrade the sup 720 to Sup 2T and extend the warranty of the chassis to next five year because as per my understanding 6500-E chassis is not declared EOS .

Please let me know .

If you elect to upgrade to the SUP2T check your line cards are compatible.

Which SUP720 do you have? I can't see Feb 2017 listed.

The SUP720-3B goes end of support 2018 http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-6500-series-switches/eol_c51-697975.html

A bunch of 67xx linecards and SUP 720-10G-3C  go end of support 2020 http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-6500-series-switches/eos-eol-notice-c51-733297.html

End of support is the last day any support is available. You may find 3rd party support.
