Im trying to find information on using sup720-3b and use 10g line cards.  Can anyone show me a link of a compatibility matrix for 3B versus 3C?

Overall, I am trying to find any information if I need to upgrade my sups to 720-3Cs or can I cost save and upgrade the IOS on my 720-3Bs.  Would a 6716-10G line card be compatibable with a 720-3B?

You will be fine with a Sup720-3B. From the same doc i sent a link to -

Q. Which supervisor engine supports the 16-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet module?

A. The 16-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet module works with any Virtual Switching Supervisor Engine 720-10G or Supervisor Engine 720, including VS-S720-10G-3C, VS-S720-10G-3CXL, WS-Sup720, WS-Sup720-3B, and WS-Sup720-3BXL.

Hi. Did you ever get the WS-X6708-10G-3C= working with a SUP720-3B.

I have a short term fix requirement for 10G into 6500 before refresh to 6708 Sup6T.

I believe we have 6708 line cards working with both sup720-3Bs and VS-S720s.  The 6708 will not work with a sup2T (and probably not a sup6T either.)

To work with a sup2T, and you need a CFC or DFC4 line card, and the 6708's DFC3C cannot be upgraded or removed.

Small typo above, I meant refresh to 6807 chassis with Sup6T so the 6708 cards would be traded in for 6800 16port 10G.
