I have this WS-X4148-RJ45V which I was using in my old Cisco 4006 with Sup WS-X4013. I moved this blade to a Cisco 4507 Chassis which is running SUP V and Phones no longer get the power from this blade.I understand that this is the Cisco Prestandard PoE linecard but I believe it should power up my Avaya phone which takes only 7.5W of power. I'm also seeing following error in the log- thoughts?

%C4K_SWITCHMANAGER-4-S2WERRORREPORT: (Suppressed 15 times)PimEthAutoNeg: S2w Read/Write Error for port Fa7/25.

%C4K_SWITCHMANAGER-4-S2WERRORREPORT: (Suppressed 15 times)PimEthAutoNeg: S2w Read/Write Error for port Fa7/33.

%C4K_SWITCHMANAGER-4-S2WERRORREPORT:

PimEthAutoNeg: S2w Read/Write Error for port [char].

A read/write error occurred on the specified port.

Recommended Action:

Refer to the release notes to verify whether you can see all the  symptoms described for CSCef87815. If you do not and do not see any  adverse effect on the functionality of the PoE switching modules  (WS-X4248-RJ45V, WS-X4248-RJ21V, WS-X4548-RJ45V, WS-X4224-RJ45V or  WS-X4524-RJ45V), reseat the switching module.

Bug details:

Using 802.3af POE cards on Catalyst 4000/4500 series switches, phones may

never get power over ethernet and the connected links may never come up.

Disabling the POE functionality by configuring "power inline never" on a POE,

the interface can still link up when connected to non-POE devices. Few

S2WERRORREPORT messages may also be seen on the console.

Symptoms:

- C4K_SWITCHMANAGER-4-S2WERRORREPORT messages may be seen on console

- IP Phones that receive power from the connected ethernet ports of the

switch would lose power.

Workaround:

None.

Status: Release pending.

So wait some time for the new software version.

I'm aware of this bug but WS-X4148-RJ45V  is not listed under affected device, however the error message is

I think it is more software bug than hardware. So it is more likely that your device is also affected

Pull out the blade, wait for a few seconds and reinsert it back.

One of our suggestions must've solved the issue because there is no follow-up.

Sure, hope this helps him...
