WS-X6548-GE-TX and WS-X6748-GE-TX compatibility

Hi,

Currently, I am using the module in this combination:

Cat 6509 SUP720 + WS-X6748-GE-TX

Cat 6509 SUP2U + WS-X6548-GE-TX

Can I swap 6748-GE-TX with 6548-GE-TX?

Thus:

Cat 6509 SUP720 + WS-X6548-GE-TX

Cat 6509 SUP2U + WS-X6748-GE-TX

Does both WS-X6548-GE-TX and WS-X6748-GE-TX compatible if I do not have any voice application?

I believe the 6748 is only supported with a SUP720

Just to follow up on previous post.

You can use a 6548-GE-TX with both the Sup720 or the Sup2. The 6548-GE-TX is fabric enabled. With a Sup2 you need a separate Switch Fabric Module, otherwise the 6548 just connects to the shared 32Gbps bus. A Sup720 has a switch fabric module built in so the 6548 would connect to the switch fabric.

The 6748-GE-TX can, as the previous poster said, be used only with the Sup720.
