I have some confusion:
I have seen posts and configs for c3550 EMI policy based routing.
Although the c3550 SW Configuration guide ( http://cco.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3550/software/release/12.1_19_ea1/configuration/guide/swiprout.html#wp1260543 ) contains examples for PBR, it also cites laundry list
of unsupported route-map commands, including those used in these same examples.
Does "set ip next-hop" not work or just not covered by warranty?
Thanks for any insight.

Hi,
Have you looked at this link ?

No luck:
I have configured a c3550emi running 12.1(22)EA8a as per the example with sdm prefer extended-match.
I have configured a loopback at 40.40.40.2 on the default gateway at 10.10.10.2.
Initiating a telnet to 40.40.40.2 from 20.20.20.4 connects immediately, apparently ignoring the route-map pbr configured on vlan2.
Have I missed something obvious?
many thanks,

My bad:
default routes on the remote gateways pointed back to pbrExample. Telnet session traversed -> 30.30.30.2 -> 30.30.30.1 -> 10.10.10.2.
Still confused as to why "show route-map" and "debug ip policy" show nothing.
