The 1841 router provides only data connectivity, so if the expectation is to connect your remote site router to the PBX, then you would likely need a different router that also supports voice.

The Data Sheet states that "The Cisco 1841 dramatically increase interface card slot performance and density over the Cisco 1700 Series while maintaining support for more than 30 existing WAN interface cards (WICs) and multiflex trunk cards (voice/WICs [VWICs]-for data only on the Cisco 1841 router)."

,

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much Michael. Would you be able to recommend me any specific model for this branch office and also one for my HQ. Just found out that I also need to change the router at my HQ so that it enables me to connect both PABX via the WAN link

Hope you can help

regards

The 1861 ISR supports voice and might be a good candidate for your remote site, depending on the requirements. Here's a good presentation that goes through the capabilities of the 1861, positioning, as well as ordering information.

For the HQ, the 28xx and 38xx ISR series are usually good choices to go with. The specific model also depends on a number of factors and requirements such as the number of users at the location and features required. From the link below you can compare the different 2800 and 3800 series routers, review their Data Sheets, and determine which one would work best for you.
