Address naming standards

Has anyone got good suggestions for adopting a naming standard for H.323, SIP and E.164 aliases for VC codec.

I'm looking to consolidate the naming standards of 80 codec spread across the world that are registerd to our VCS system.

I've got my own ideas but would like to see how anyone else manages this situation?

Thanks

Rod

Hi Rod,

it will be easier to manage you endpoints if you can adopt a naming scheme which identifies the codec location.

for example, if you had 3 units in london and 4 units in NY, you can use below naming scheme:

London Endpoints:

H323, SIP alias: confroom1-london@domain.com    ( confroomC40-london@domain.com) you can add device model in alias for managing.

similarly,       confroom2-london@domain.com

for NY:

confroom1-NY@domain.com

you can use your own ideas to create alias which makes them managable.
