Hello to all,
One of my costumer has the TMS Appliance broken. By RMA I got a new server. At first I could not make a backup the DB, now I did it.
I restore a old DB and now all work fine. But i have a old serial number and licences.
My question is: Can I change the serial number and license with those of the new server?
Thanks in advance

Hi Artemisio,
You can get the license for the new box by writing to licensing@cisco.com along with the new server details to them.
once you get the new release key you can apply the same using GUI.

Hi
Alok is correct here, since you have restored the old database you have the old licenses which is not correct. You need to contact licensing and get a release key for your new serial number and equivalent option keys for that serial number and puch this in to the TMS then it will be fine. You have to do this as having an old serial on the new box would cause problems when you request support later.

One this is done the new server should reflect that the serial number is correct (the new serial number)

I solved my problem.
I logged into theTMS DB, in a table I changed the release key and option key.
Now I have all the old data with the new release key and the new option key.
Thanks anyway for the help
Best Regards
