Cisco CMS edge for CMA App

Dear Experts,

I need help to understand on the CMS edge redundant setup(edge1 and edge2).

Customer is looking to use B2B, MRA and XMPP Federation though Expressway. But, because CMS App fully not support on expressway, customer want to use resilient CMS Core(core1, core2,core3) and Edge(edge1, and edge2) setup for CMA and WebRTC.

So my question is

1. What will be total public IP's required on edge1 and edge2.?

2. and where it will be assigned loadbancer or WebRTC or turn?

Thanks

Hello Irfan,

The question here is why do they need 2 edge servers? For redundancy? If yes, you can use minimum of 2 public ip's for edge 1 and edge 2 respectively and can run webbridge,LB, Turn to listen the same Public address on internet. It means that you can have the 3 mentioned components on both edge servers listening to their respective public address.

for example

Webbridge listen a

Loadbalancer listen a:5222 lo:5222

Turn listen a

where "a" could be the interface nat to respective public address.

Dear abhispal,

Thanks for the reply.. So in that case we would required the respective SRV records pointing both Public ip's

Yes, if in case you deploy multiple LB's you require to create multiple SRV records for _xmpp-client._tcp.example.com to resolve to the public interface of the LB.

Please do not forget to mark "Resolved" if answers suffiice the explanation required.
