Cisco Room Bar is fully compatible with CMS 2.0 or not

Hi Experts,

I hope this mail finds you well.I am currently exploring options for video conferencing hardware and wanted to inquire about the compatibility between the Cisco Room Bar with Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) version 2.x.

As I know Webex Room Kit mini and Touch are EoL devices and replaced with Room bar & Room Navigator .

Could you kindly confirm whether the Cisco Room Bar is fully compatible with CMS 2.0, or if any additional configurations or updates are necessary for seamless integration?  bacuase of Room bar firmware is Cloud native room OS  ,not CE firmware.

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

CMS 2.0 was end of support in February 29, 2024. So I would not recommend using that software with the latest Room OS on the devices. If you want to stay on CMS software there is the newer CMS 3.9.2 versions which are compatible with the latest Room OS software.

Dear Matt,

I hope you are doing well. Unfortunately, we are unable to upgrade our current CMS version. However, I would like to ask whether switching the Room OS to the CE version would allow us to use CMS 2.0 with the Room Bar (running on the CE version).

Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I do not see CE firmware available for the Cisco Room Bar. The oldest listed on Software.cisco.com is RoomOS 10.19.2.2.

as per above link,I would like to ask whether it is possible to use the Cisco Room Bar (with Room OS) as a USB camera and join meetings via Chrome on a laptop.

Yes, the room bar can use the USB connection back to the laptop to utilize the Cisco Room Bar's camera and mic as the camera and mic for the laptop. In this way you can join any meeting your laptop has the ability to join.
