Cisco Telepresence Server Confernce Call Layout Issue

Dear Team,

I am facing a issue with Confernece Layout.

We have a Cisco Telepresence Server 8710, 4 nos CTS3210 Endpoints and some other Telepresence Endpoints including Jabber.

Problem Details: Whenever i am in a conference with CTS 3210 Endpoint the active speaker guy is not coming up on the screen, i can see a red box indication on the active speaker guy video.

     while starting the conference whoever will come on the main screen the same will continue till end of the confernce. the other participants would be there below the screen on small boxes whenever they speak the red indication will come.

Note: This probelm is happening only with CTS 3210 Endpoint with Telepresence Server. we have noticed the same issue on multipe CTS 3210 Endpoint.

Please help me to fix this issue.

Sometime ago I took a similar problem, the issue was happening when having CTS endpoints registered to an old CUCM version (version 7). In this case, TIP negotiation is not possible, so I had to manually add the CTS endpoints to TP Server as Legacy endpoints. That was enough to make three screens work with TP Server, but I had the same issue you have, the active speaker layout didn't work as expected when any legacy endpoint was conected to the conference. The solution was to migrate those CTS endpoints to a CUCM 9.1 version, then the problem stoped to occur, because, in this case, TIP negotiation was sucessfull.

That's why Cisco always recommends to use the latest software version for all devices, because many limitations and defects are fixed when Cisco releases a new version.

Thanks for the reply.

Here i am using CUCM 8.6.2 and this was working 2 weeks before suddenly stop working. We didn't made any changes recently. Please see the other device software version details below.

Cisco Telepresence Server: 3.0(2.48)

CTS 3210: CTS1.9.1(68)P1

Currently i can't really go for a CUCM9.1 migration for some reason.

is this a bug or something?? if it is yes can you please share the bug details with me.

Hi Nikhil,

I didn't find any bug related to your issue. Also, there is no problem with your CUCM software version, once the version 8.6.2 is officially supported. We cand find some issues in version prior to 8.5.1, that is not your case.

I think this case will demand some analysis of logs, so I suggest to go ahead and open a TAC case. You can open a TAC case from this discussion, so TAC team will have a initial history of your case.

And when TAC support finds a solution to your issue (I am sure they will), please, post the result here, this may be helpfull for another people with similar problem. My hint is, TAC support will recommend you to upgrade to the latest software version of the CTS endpoints and TP Server.
