Dear Team,
We are deploying content server version 7.x on BE7K server and windows 2012 R2 version.
We have followed steps as per the installation manual. Almost end of the installation whenever we try to run the S7_0_VM.exe we are getting some error.
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and writable"
Please suggest what could be the possible reason for that.
Regards,
Vikas

Hi Vikas,
Could you please make sure that you have the secondary drive on which all the data will be saved is with drive letter as E: and not something else as D: or F:. You can rename it under Control Panel >Administrative Tools > Computer Management.

As Manish mentions, you are missing the required E: drive which is used to store the media, logs, database, etc. It's mentioned near the begin if of the install guide as part of installing the Windows OS.

Is it all recordings, or only specific one? If specific recordings, what is the difference between the working and non-working recordings?
Can you provide a screenshot of the manage outputs page for the recording that shows the format and transcoding status? Also, provide a screen shot of the media server configuration that this recording is configured to use?
Do the TCS logs show any errors for this recording?

I noticed that the manage outputs screenshot is from Recording setup > Templates, can you provide a screenshot from the actual recording you're trying to play under Recordings > Edit recordings?
The TCS should be able to use the default media server, the Local IIS Web Server to stream any of those formats on-demand. However, in order to do live streaming with any of those formats, you'll need to setup and configure an external streaming server, see the links below on how to do that.

Yes, in order to do live streaming, it's recommended to use an external streaming server as noted in the links I provided earlier.
Still haven't provided a screenshot of the manage outputs page of the actual recording, in your "recording.png" screenshot, is where you need to select that option. Trying to see if there are any issues with the media files or transcoding as to why the on-demand videos aren't playing.

Dear Patrick,
What if we don't have the external server for configuration for live streaming , whenever we click on the link to see the live streaming its shows no video.
We are able to play the video post conference and after transcoding.
Pls suggest ..

Okay, so it's just a live recording you can't play, it wasn't clear until now when you said it. You will be required to setup an external streaming server, TCS S7.0 doesn't support playback of live streaming itself, refer to Table 1-7 in the "Media Server Configurations" section of the TCS S7.0 Admin Guide to see what streaming methods are supported.

Hi Patrick,
I have installed virtual TCS but when opening web page i am having an error (The overview for this server cannot be found.)
can you help

Is your TCS a hardware appliance or VM?
If hardware, do you have the checksum value in the Windows registry under HKLM > Software > Wow6432node > Tandberg > TCS? If you don't, than you will need to contact TAC to have one generated for you.
If virtual, did you install all the required server Roles and Features? I know someone once got that error because they missed the "Desktop Experience" feature.

Hi Patrick,
i have VM TCS and after checking the Desktop Experience option it worked, thanks alot for your help.
