Hello,
Our endpoints (MXP, EX and C series last release) are using DHCP for IP adressing. For those scope, DNS can't be implemented in DHCP. So we would like to staticality set DNS server for endpoints.
But it seems that for DHCP adressing you can't user static DNS setup ?
Is there anybody her who's got this kind of trouble ?
Regards

Hello Yves
Can you provide bit more information about yours set up please?
Just curious, what is the reason you cannot send DNS thru DHCP? So, endpoints get default gateway, IP, but not DNS server?
Thanks
Rafal

Hello Yves
I did some more checks and it looks like you may be hitting CSCuc73501.
Please check our Cisco Bug Toolkit and search for CSCuc73501as we have workaround for that.
Thanks

Rafal: your second link does not work, but the first one does.
Just tried to look into the RFCs, for now I did not find some mandatory static dns for dhcp clients,
so it might not even be a bug just a feature request :-)
In short: either set up the endpoints ip static incl a static dns or add the dns server to the dhcp server.
Yves: What kind of dhcp server do you use? Most enterprise grade dhcpds support different
options for different subnets / macaddress groups / specific ips, ...
Then you could just assign dns servers to your video systems.
If this is not an option and you require DNS on the endpoint, use static ips.

Thanks Martin
Yes you correct CSCuc73501 is open as enhancement request, so its not a bug
