We have a home user using an EX90 connecting to our network via VPN. The user's bandwidth at home is about 1Mbps. When the user makes a direct call to another EX90 or to a C40, the call is clear. Whenever the user calls into the MCU, the video quality is extremely degraded. There is plenty of bandwidth coming out of the datacenter to support this scenario. But something is not right because whenever the user calls into the bridge, the video quality is terrible. Any ideas? Thanks!

Need some more info on this to better assist you.
What model Codian MCU (4200, 4500, 8400, and 8500) are you calling?
What are the conference settings of the Codian?
What call rate does the EX90 connect to the MCU at?
EX90 Touch Screen > Select settings > Call Status
What resolution is received on the EX90 from the Codian MCU?
EX90 Touch Screen > Select settings > Call Status

Hi,
in some cases, passing video traffic over a VPN can introduce packetloss due to MTU issues.
To check if this is the case, you can try lowering the value for 'Maximum transmitted video packet size' in Settings -> Conferences from the MCU's web interface from the default of 1400 in steps of 100, i.e try 1300, 1200, 1100 and so forth, to see if this helps improve the video quality.
This setting sets the maximum size of the video payload itself, not taking encapsulation/protocol overhead into account.
Hope this helps!
Andreas
