I have a quick question for you guys, I decided to post here in the forums regarding a Tandberg 770 MXP and TTC7-08 that we are currently working with, we are a system integration company that's currently working at Mapfre at the moment, they have these 2 codecs in 2 different conference rooms, the thing is, they don't know/have the username(s) and password(s) for the codecs, is it possible to do a complete reset/factory reset to these codecs without knowing the admin password or the IP password that was set previously?
Thank you and please reply soon.

Did you try the default password of TANDBERG ? Username can be anything such as ADMIN.
You can connect up to the serial port on the back of each codec and change the passwords by using a terminal emulation software such as HyperTerminal. Information is provided in the MXP Administrators manual.
Do not do a factory reset unless you also have all the software keys for the options or you will lose it all.

Yes, I agree with Russell, tough you can also try to get the option keys via your cisco partner,
he should be able to look them up even if the system has no service contract anymore.
If you can not even log in via the serial port, there is a way to erase the config
via the serial port during the boot process.

Besides that, if there is no menu passowrd set, you should be able to change the
password via the remote control and the on screen display.
I think strict password was set as default, so it has to follow some rules, but thats also mentioned in the article I linked.
And besides all of that, maybe you should consider upgrading your system anyhow! :-)
There are a lot of nice systems out there starting with the SX20 for a small room or the EX60
as a personal system :-)

So just to update you guys on this particular issue, I tried resetting the Codec via both Serial and Telnet, and for some reason the Codec seems to be locked, let me explain:
It refuses to accept any input, for example, when connecting via Telnet, the very first second it connects, it prompts me to enter a password, but when I type, it doesn't show anything, not even "*" for each letter I type, same thing when connected via Serial/RS232, it just refuses to enter/show any of my inputs.
It's very weird since I also had to reset a different Tandberg Codec, and on that one it worked perfectly, it executed all the commands (RS232) I typed.
Is there a way to solve this? maybe there's a way to physically reset the Codec? like a reset button or jumper?
Thanks!
