Interface SBC

Hi,

I know this is funny question.

Actually I just started reading TP. We are using ASR1K as SBC.

I seen over there "interface SBC" something link below. I was searching config guidelines for CUBE SP and found the way to configure interface SBC but do not know meaning of it. I mean why do we need this interface , why we use so many ip addresses (primary and many secondary)

interface SBC3230
 ip vrf forwarding XXXX

 ip address x.x.x.242 255.255.255.248 secondary
 ip address x.x.x.243 255.255.255.248 secondary
 ip address x.x.x.244 255.255.255.248 secondary
 ip address x.x.x.245 255.255.255.248 secondary
 ip address x.x.x.246 255.255.255.248 secondary
 ip address x.x.x.241 255.255.255.248

Hi Mahesh,

From the Multi-VRF CUBE SP configuration guide:

"The interface sbc command is needed, whenever a VRF is being used. You must have a secondary IP address defined if the media IP address is going to be different than the signaling address. However, in this case the secondary IP address is automatically added when the media-address ipv4 command is used. It must not be manually entered."
