we are plaaning to set up a link from india to dubai wherein we can send live streaming video.
is something possible that we can send a unicast from india and in dubai, thrugh some device etc it gets converted into multicast??
What things i should keep in my mind to maximize the resources available??
is gre tunnel an optimum solution??if we are sending it through internet then what things i should stress upon??thanks in advance..kindly help me for my first project.

Converting in Dubai into multicast may overcomplicate. It would help if you can set it to multicast originally and send mcast over GRE tunnel. Also run pim mrouting protocol.
But it also depends on applicatoion capability and requirements

Hi vakhtang,thanks for replying.
I heard of the device which is proprietary to NEC cop. This device will set up at dubai and then if we send unicast, this product will convert it into multicast.
The application is Real time streaming video.
Sending unicast is more simle over gRe tunnel or multicast??why??
Other than gre, what other options can i think of??

It will depend on application you are deploying.
If your traffic is constantly streaming to Dubai, then unicast should be fine. But if you need to stream only when there are requests for traffic, multicast is the way to go.
