Hi Folks,
Just wondering if we could specify a fixed range of RTP ports on MXP95, just like Polycoms units? Our firewall defines the media ports to be 16XXX to 32XXX, but it seems that the MXP95 uses 4XXXX above, so we are not getting any media. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
regards
Chenzhe

Hi Chenzhe,
Please find the network ports used by MXP codecs
For MXP codec (H323) :
H323/RAS : 1719 UDP
H323/Q931 : 1720 TCP
H.245 : 5555 - 6555 TCP
Media : 2326 - 2487 UDP
For MXP codec (SIP)
Signalling : 5060 TCP/UDP
: 5061 TLS
Media : 46000-49000 UDP
BFCP : 5070 - 5080 UDP
Thanks,

Forgot to mention that we are using sip on MXP 95 to register with VCS-C.

yes you can fix the ports, but you cannot set them to custom range, they are 2326-2485 (or 5555-5574) from memory. Check the admin guide for your version of software release on the unit.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think it is using 46000 to 48999 or something close. And the admin guide currently available(9.0) does not specify that information. If there is customization on the port range, I'll have to amend our firewall configuration.

Hi Chenzhe,
Please remember to configure your MXP to FIXED H.323 ports if you want to use the range mentionned below. Otherwise, it will do random ports above 1024. Go under:
Control panel/network/lan settings/H.323 settings/advanced H.323 settings
And make sure you set H.323 Ports to STATIC as it is set to DYNAMIC by default
Thanks
Steve
