OK CISCO ...

1.  Installed CISCO WEBEX Room 70 G2.

2. Upgraded firmware a couple weeks ago to Ce9.8.0

3. The system just started display a warning that the camera software is not compatible with codec ????

What is the fix please as this had been working for weeks and other systems are running 9.8.0 with no error.

Verified the camera control is connected properly.

How did you upgrade - through CUCM or manually? Make sure you used the right file, you cannot use the .pkg file, it will not upgrade the camera unit, which it sounds like is your problem.

From the 9.9 release notes:

Please note when upgrading this system from CUCM you must specify the software with the “.loads” extension and not “.pkg”. The “.pkg” file do not include software for the Cisco Webex Quad Camera.

Also I'd recommend using 9.8.1 or 9.9

The software versions on the codec and the camera need to match.  Both need to be updated at the same time - you need to update the codec again correctly to get it to update the camera as well.

If you upgrade via the web interface, you need to use the .cop.sgn file on the room series endpoints, not just the .pkg file.

If you use TMS to upgrade the endpoint, you need to use the "Advanced" mode of the Software Upgrade, and select the .loads file.  You need to have the .loads and all the other .pkg files for the codec in place on the TMS server to do this - you get these there by uploading the .cop.sgn file to TMS via the Upload New Software button on the Software Manager page of TMS.
