Not installed NPP on TelePresence QuickSet C20

Hello.

I have Telepresence Tandberg QuickSet C20 with installed Natural Presenter.

The problem here:

When i try to start NPP with remote controller and button "Presentation" i see text "Option Natural Presentage Package no installed".

I try to connect with Web interface - i see "Installed options: NaturalPresenter"

when i see in Web interface - XML files - Status. I see this:

"<NaturalPresenter item="1">false</NaturalPresenter>"

I think that problem in here, but can't understand how change it.

I can't access the codec with SSH or Telnet, and don't know admin password... and don't know where to find it.

Codec already activated "Valid release key: Yes"

Software version: TCNC3.1.2.227244, and i can't download new becouse have no acess to it.

That codec is running software from 2011 and has been end of support since August. There is a process to reset the password, but you need a serial connection to the codec to do so. See an admin guide for that process (it's not difficult).

As for your problem, if the NPP option is installed you shouldn't have a problem, but your issue might be caused by how old your software is. I'm guessing you never had a support contract or you would have upgraded the software at some point.

I'd try resetting the password and going from there but you might be stuck here.

Good luck

Hello, i tried to connect the codec with Telner and SSH from Putty with IP adress, but can't connect. Tried it through ISP and from Local area network, with local IP adress. What am i do wrong?

I can connect with web interface, but have no entry field for admin account and password.

I have same codec in main office, with same software version, there NPP is "true" and it work well. but can't take it by myself.

I work with cisco video telepresence in first time, and there are no specialist who can update it for a long time...

The password recovery process can only be done with a serial (physical) connection. The device wouldn't be very secure if you could reset the password remotely :)

As @PJMack mentioned, the C20 is an end of support device, and you are also running ancient software on it that is subject to a considerable number of security vulnerabilities.

I would recommend that you consider replacing the devices with something that is newer and supportable if at all possible rather than spending valuable time on such an old and unsupportable device.

But, as you show, the endpoint is listing that it has a NPP option instealled, but it is not seeming to work.  One option could be to try a factory reset on the device to see if that helps to refresh it and perhaps get rid of any misconfiguration that is stopping it from functioning correctly.
