Hi all,
Are there any documents where I can see what ports should be opened for C-series and MXP on SIP and H.323?
As far as I know, formerly we could see the documents such as "D5030507 TANDBERG and H323.pdf" and "D50444 TANDBERG and SIP.pdf".
Best Regards,
Kotaro

For MXP Product, you may find port information from Knowledge Base Articles available from http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/endpoint/articles_doc/telepresence_endpoints_knowledge_base_articles.pdf
Q&A 602: Which IP ports are used by the H.323 and SIP protocol for the Cisco TelePresence System MXP endpoints?
The following ports cover both MultiSite and H.239 (dual stream):
For H.323:
Gatekeeper Discovery (RAS) – Port 1719 – UDP
Q.931 call Setup – Port 1720 – TCP
H.245 – Port Range 5555-5574 – TCP
Video – Port Range 2326-2485 – UDP
Audio – Port Range 2326-2485 – UDP
Data/FECC – Port Range – 2326-2485 – UDP
For SIP:
SIP messages – Port 5060 – UDP/TCP
SIP messages – Port 5061 – TLS(TCP)
Video – Port Range 2326-2485 – UDP
Audio – Port Range 2326-2485 – UDP

BTW, H.245 port range listed above is when H.323 ports configured as "Static".
If H.323 ports configured as "Dynamic" on Endpoint, then the H.245 port range is from 11000 to 65535.

For C-series Endpoint,
H.245 ports range is from 5555 to 6555 while port allocation configured as "Static".
If port allocation configured as "Dynamic", then port range is from 11000 to 20999.
Default RTP/RTCP port range for media is 2326 to 2485.
However this is configurable by "RTP Ports Range Start" and "RTP Ports Range Stop".
These information is available on Administrator Guide and API Guide.

Hi Taniguchi-san,
Thank you for your informatin.
Based on information you gave and on Administrator guide,
let me clarify the ports.
For H.323:
Gatekeeper Discovery (RAS) Port 1719 UDP
Q.931 call Setup Port 1720 TCP
H.245(Static) Port Range 5555-5574 TCP
H.245(Dynamic) Port Range 11000-65535 TCP
Video Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Data/FECC Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
For SIP:
SIP messages Port 5060 UDP/TCP
SIP messages Port 5061 TLS(TCP)
Video Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
For H.323:
Gatekeeper Discovery (RAS) Port 1719 UDP
Q.931 call Setup Port 1720 TCP
H.245(Static) Port Range 5555-6555 TCP
H.245(Dynamic) Port Range 11000-20999 TCP
Video* Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio* Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Data/FECC Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
*Configurable by "RTP Ports Range Start" and "RTP Ports Range Stop"
For SIP:
SIP messages Port 5060 UDP/TCP
SIP messages Port 5061 TLS(TCP)
Video Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
On P.43 of Administrator guide of Quickset C20, we can see C series use 2326-2487 for media date (not 2326-2485).
Is this wrong?

Correct, please note above port range is for call/media signal and not including any system management ports (i.e ssh, telnet, http/https, etc.)
Also RTP ports range start/stop also apply on SIP call media channel for C-series Endpoint.

> On P.43 of Administrator guide of Quickset C20, we can see C series use 2326-2487 for media date (not 2326-2485).
Please check latest version of C20 administrator guide available from http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/endpoint/quick-set-c20/tc5/administration_guide/profile_c20_and_quickset_c20_administrator_guide_tc51.pdf.
Page 41 has media port ranges information “Port 2326-2485”.

Correction, MXP series use ports range of 46000-49000 for RTP media not 2326-2485.
BFCP uses port 5070 and count upwards to 5080 for sequential calls

Hi Taniguchi-san,
Then ports used for H.323 and SIP are as follows.
Is this correct?
For H.323:
Gatekeeper Discovery (RAS) Port 1719 UDP
Q.931 call Setup Port 1720 TCP
H.245(Static) Port Range 5555-5574 TCP
H.245(Dynamic) Port Range 11000-65535 TCP
Video Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Data/FECC Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
For SIP:
SIP messages Port 5060 UDP/TCP
SIP messages Port 5061 TLS(TCP)
Video Port Range 46000-49000 UDP
Audio Port Range 46000-49000 UDP
BFCP Port Range 5070-5080 TCP/UDP
For H.323:
Gatekeeper Discovery (RAS) Port 1719 UDP
Q.931 call Setup Port 1720 TCP
H.245(Static) Port Range 5555-6555 TCP
H.245(Dynamic) Port Range 11000-20999 TCP
Video* Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio* Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Data/FECC Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
*Configurable by "RTP Ports Range Start" and "RTP Ports Range Stop"
For SIP:
SIP messages Port 5060 UDP/TCP
SIP messages Port 5061 TLS(TCP)
Video* Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
Audio* Port Range 2326-2485 UDP
*Configurable by "RTP Ports Range Start" and "RTP Ports Range Stop"

Hi Tom,
sorry to dig up this post again. Just wondering if it is possible to configure the RTP port range on MXP 95?
thanks

BFCP port for MXP is UDP/TCP (some of software version only support BFCP over UDP).

HI Taniguchi-san,
Regarding BFCP port for MXP, I corrected my post above.
Thank you for your information!
