Presentation Issue with C20 - DVI-I 2: unsupported signal

We see a strange issue with C20 Presentation.

We are not able to share the presentation from our C20. The Presentation is seen locally on the Second screen, but not transmited to the Far end.

Xstatus Diagnostics / Xstatus Mediachannels show a content channel being open to the far end - but transmit bit rate is not increasing. Proving that nothing is actively transmitted.

Line 2666: *s Diagnostics Call 4 Channels OutgoingVideoChannel 46 Netstat 1 Bytes: 171853

Line 2733: *s Diagnostics Call 4 Channels OutgoingVideoChannel 46 Netstat 1 Bytes: 171853

Line 2800: *s Diagnostics Call 4 Channels OutgoingVideoChannel 46 Netstat 1 Bytes: 171853

Line 2867: *s Diagnostics Call 4 Channels OutgoingVideoChannel 46 Netstat 1 Bytes: 171853

The far end just receives a black screen.

Not sure, why the presentation is sene locally and not trasmitted?

From the logs, we see that C20 is not detecting the input signal.

If we set the DVI type to AutoDetect

xConfiguration Video Input DVI 2 Type: AutoDetect

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution FormatType: Unknown

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution FormatStatus: Error

*s Video Input DVI 2 Connected: False

*s Video Input DVI 2 SignalState: Unknown

If we set the DVI type to AnalogRGD

xConfiguration Video Input DVI 2 Type: AnalogRGB

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution Height: 900

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution Width: 1600

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution RefreshRate: 60

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution FormatType: AnalogDiscreteTiming

*s Video Input Source 2 Resolution FormatStatus: Ok

*s Video Input DVI 2 Connected: True

*s Video Input DVI 2 SignalState: OK

Live logs show

69129.45 DATACTRL I: FECCCAPSREQ(): received global controller fecc capabilities

69129.45 VIDEOLC-0 I: Connection of video input DVI-I 2 confirmed

69129.57 VIDEOLC-0 I: VLC_readySignalSourceEvent port:DVI-I 2: unsupported signal

69129.63 VIDEOLC-0 I: VLC_readySignalSourceEvent port:DVI-I 2: have signal

Note: TC6 upgrade and Factory reset already performed.

The Presentation Source works fine with other C20's.

Assalamu Alaikum Rameez,

Impressive troubleshooting done so far. First of all, I would recommend that you set the DVI type manually instead of using AutoDetect as the codec doesn't seem to be recognizing the stream.

Secondly, have you checked if the codec has a Natural Presenter Package license key installed? If you do not have that, there is a possibility that you would not be able to transmit the presentation. That would be the first thing I would check. You can get that info by going into xstatus Systemunit.

Please check and let us know.

Yes I have NPP

I also tried setting DVI to AnalogRGB, but the same issue

Rameez,

What is the presentation source which you are using?

Regards,

Chiman Lal Rohira

Its a Dell Latitude - VGA

Rameez,

Here is what I could suggest:

1) Check xstatus media channels

2) What is the protocol that the Presentation Channel is negotiating

3) What is the device on far end?

4) Have you tried calling any other device to see if the problem persists

Hi Rameez,

Please make sure that the default presentation source is set to 2.

xConfiguration Video DefaultPresentationSource: 2

Have you tried connecting any other presentation cable and any other laptop ?

Thanks,

The default presentation source is 2.

Xstatus mediachannel shows correct media destination

If I use maincam as presentation source, its transmitted to farend on contentchannel properly

Rameez,

That's a good step to use MainCam as presentation source. Have you tried to compare the xstatus diagnostics and xstatus media channels of the working and non-working scenario.

Something tells me that this could be due to the protocol failure. At this point, I feel the best way would be to open a TAC case where we can check these logs and find the root cause. We do not recommend pasting logs on CSC Support community which might compromise customer's security and reveal his internal network.

Please open a TAC case and we would be happy to help you out.
