question about system task $restart

Hi all,

    I  am trying to use the system task $restart recently and hit some questions.

    My application communicates with other process by socket which is implemented by PLI. The question is that after I invoke $restart() on verilog side, the socket connection between simv and other process  will be broke.

And I saw some message like below:

Detaching after fork from child process 27467.

Executing new program: /home/***/sys  

Notice: sys is equal to simv. 

Does it hint that $restart start a new process? Could you give me some suggestions?

    There are too many forms for me to choice, do you know which one I should focus on?
