I am trying to install TMS 15.4.0 and I have also had to reinstall SQL2012 R2 on a seperate server.
I need to remove the encryptionconnectionstring from the registry of the TMS server.
Where is the encryptionconnectionstring located in the registry ???
Any help is appreciated ..
NOTE: I don't have a tmsng database created on the SQL server as I am trying to get TMS install to create the database.
I did save a full backup of the old database and plan to do a restore once the TMS is installed.

It would be simpler re-use the existing tmsng database, and point the new TMS to it during the install process.
If for some reason you don't know the encryption key for the database, you can located it in TMS Tools on under Security Settings.
The "Scan Db for Encryption Key Mismatch" option in TMS Tools under Security Settings might be an option as well if you don't have or know the encryption key for the database, refer to the TMS 15.4 Admin Guide on pg 277 for more information.

Chet,
Here is where the key is located:
You need to delete the following key from the registry:
HKLM > Software > Wow6432Node > Tandberg > TANDBERG Management Suite > EncryptedConnectionString
Thanks,
Justin

Patrick,
Agree but my problem is that I can't put the tmsng db offline or detach it ??? Keeps telling me the DB is in use ???
I want to restore the tmsng db backup but it also keep error out in SQL ??
Yes I did use the old key during the set up process the first time and it is still there each time I try to run the TMS install. It was failing.
So I went back to the SQL and tried to detach the tmsng but it keep telling me the db was in use ?? So then I tried to put it offline then detach it but that failed. Now if I try to run TMS install I can't get past the SQL portion of the install...
I even uninstalled SQL and reinstalled it but that didn't work.

Justin,
Thank you. Sheesh now I can't find the server during my install. I plan to install SQL for the fith time now ... If it isn;t one thing it's another.
Darn installer now give me options to find a server but I can't. I turned on every service in SQL but still can't discover the darn server.
I know it's not firewall because the SQL servers are inside and TMS installer found one SQL server but that is for Solarwinds ...
Unless I can find the issue I plan to uninstall SQL and re-install it for the fith time and use nothing but default settings and turn every feature and service on. Maybe that will work ...
One frustrated guy right now.
