Hi I am a newbie in VC and follow the deployment guide and manage to make the following call flow design and able to make outgoing video call to testaddress@cisco.com
end point>>CUCM>>VCS-C>>VCS-E
I have two questions.
(1)When I try to create local zone search rule, I don't see local zone at the place of target zone. When I go to zone and create new zone, I do not know what should I choose for local zone.
(2)I manage to make traversal call to only cisco.com domain because I create search rule for cisco.com with following setting.
Any | Any | No | Alias pattern match | Regex | (.*)@cisco.com(.*) | Replace | Continue | Traversal zone |
But when I create same search rule for other domain, it doesn't work. I like to make the search rule to be able to call all other external domain.
Please advise and appreciated any suggestion.

You have Expressway Series, not VCS Series. VCS has local zones because VCS can do device registrations, while Expressway doesn't because it passes everything to CUCM so there is no need for a local zone for endpoints to register to.
What deployment guide are you referring to, it's probably for VCS? You should be going by the the Expressway Basic Configuration Deployment Guide X8.5.

Does it say "Video Communication Server" or "Expressway" in the top of the web interface? Can you give us a screenshot of what you're seeing when you try to create a search rule pointing to the local zone?
If you want to call anyone external via your traversal zone, you could change the mode of the search rule you created above and set it to "Any alias". If you want to only allow specific external calls, to certain domains, you can setup your search rule like you have above, except instead of Replace, it needs to be set to "Leave".

Hi Patrik,
Thanks. It show expressway. I created search rule with any alias and pointing to traversal zone but it doesn't work. When I create specific external domain like same rule I created for cisco with same priority,it doesnt work as well. I will try again with leave option again and let you know the result.
I am confusing local zone. Does it require for expressway solutions? I dont see local zone but deployme t guide said to create local zone.
