Secondhand DX80 still under another company's service contract?

So I have a couple of TelePresence DX80s  (and an EX90 I haven't gotten to) that I want to work with Webex. I got them because my workplace was going to dumpster them as they can't be used on our primary network. (never even used - still have the plastic film on them and everything.)

They're still running firmware 9.1.6, which is old enough that it still looks for Cisco Spark and not Webex. It's also pretty insecure apparently, affected by a handful of documented security vulnerabilities. My understanding is that Cisco TAC will provide patched firmware to users without support contracts for the purpose of fixing that. This would fix both problems for me.

The problem is that when I try to create a case, the device is listed as being covered under another support contract and asks if I would like to add it to my profile. I'm not part of our IT team and my use case legally isn't their responsibility (state vs federal, national guard shenanigans), so that seems like the wrong choice, but it also means I've got no way of creating a case for this thing.

What's my play here?

Try phoning the TAC instead of using the on-line forms.  That can be one way around this.  Make sure to mention the security vulnerability that you are trying to get the patch for.

The latest software version available for the DX80 is CE9.15.16.5.

The EX90 is ancient (last date of support was 31 August 2022) and only runs the TC7 software as a maximum.  It really wouldn't be worth trying to get this operational unless you absolutely need it, and you won't get any assistance from the TAC at all in doing so for an obsolete device like this.
