SX10 with CE8.2

Hi, I have upgraded my SX10 to CE8.2 Software to test the H.323 Call.

I made a call with DX80(also CE8.2) and these are the results.

1. H.323 Direct Call(SX10 <-> DX80)

   - Maximum resolution : 720p

2. SIP Direct Call(SX10 <-> DX80)

   - Maximum resolution : 1080p

I have no idea why the H.323 call doesn't support 1080p Full HD. It only tx/rx HD 720p no matter how much bandwidth it uses.(also on max 3Mbps)

I think this is a bug for the new software. Please check and give me some answers.

This is a bug with CE software, where the endpoint prefers to decode the video at 720p instead of the 1080p higher resolution it should, see CSCva19976

The minimum bandwidth required for a 1080p30 call on the SX10 is 1472kbps.  The DX80 recommends 2-4Mbps.

Can you give us some information on how you have the Optimal definition profile settings on each of the devices set?  Do you have your device set for "Sharpness" which will give the highest resolution, or "Motion" which will give preference to frame rate?

Hi Wayne,

The two devices are all set to Sharpness, but I think this is not the problem because SIP call still works well with 1080p30.

Only H.323 Call has the problem by sending 720p resolution. I have checked with both SX10 and it also has the same problem.

The attached file is the capture of the call status by H.323 & SIP. All settings are same and can't find the way to fix this. The software version is CE 8.2.0.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your reply. So it's a bug, which I thought about. Hope to be updated soon.

Thank you.
