Tandberg 990 MXP / F5.4 video failure on MCU

Hi all,

Since the latest upgrade (VCS from 7.2.2 to x8.1) and a 5310 MCU from 4.3 to 4.4, we encounter the following issue :

No video is seen from those codecs by the other multiconferencing participants.

Just to let you know, video is fine when we are in a point to point call, but not when the MCU is included.

And the 990 codecs do send some video signal but it's not received by participants, as MCU indicates the quality of signal.

Encryption, media ports have been modified for tests, no further success.

Would there be an issue with H263/H263+/H264 on those quite old software versions?

Thanks for your answers and hints.

Cheers,

Jul

I'd recommend that you upgrade your old codecs firmware. There's a security advisory (http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20110831-tandberg) which may be of interest - you should be able to get an upgrade to version F9.1 with that - then it's a simple upgrade to the latest F9.3.1 from there.

Thank you Wayne,

I just sent the request to the TAC to obtain the f9.1 upgrade, or more precisely, to get new release keys to upgrade all the codecs to the same version. As an evidence, the fautly systems are not anymore under service contract.

***UPDATE***

Well, that was the solution, upgrading those endpoints made the video issue run away. Thanks for the hint.

cheers

Great to hear you've got it all working now
