The encryption on Cisco E20

Hello,

I have problem with encyption between two Cisco E20 in call. Usually, the connection is encypted, but sometimes it isn't.

Both devices have encryption set to best effort.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Point-to-point call, I am assuming?

I wonder if you set encryption to yes on both units if the same pattern would follow and calls would sometimes fail and/or drop?

point-to-point, of course.

I can't set encryption to "yes". It's E20 and I can here set only "off" or "best effort"

Additionally, if I set "best effort" to E20 and "on" to C20, I can't do calls.

What is the reason? Thank you :-)

Definitely hard to say - you have an encryption key on your VCS, correct?

yes

First I would check all the available logs and status / historic info you have, VCS, E20, TMS, ...

The search/call/registration history can be a good start.

Maybe you can identify a pattern which helps you to identifiy the issue.

Always the best is to find a way to reprouce the issue.

If issues only seem to happen random, debugging and tracing can help.

Take a look at the admin guides

Besides that you did not write much about your setup and the failure itself.

For example how you configured your E20s (manual, tms-endpoint, tms-provisioning).

If you use DNS records (A, SRV, NAPTR, ...) how your VCS is configured, ...
