Same problem than here https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12333951/tms-authentication-error-while-installing-tmspe
but while trying to upgrade TMSPE from 1.3 to 1.4 after completing the TMS upgrade to 14.6
The 1.4 deployment guide mentions "Cisco TMSPE has been tested with Java 7, update 51, 32-bit and 64-bit versions"
Which is the same than TMSPE 1.3
So either the doc is wrong or this time it is a different issue than the Java version

I had the same issue as you, upgraded TMS to 14.6 and then tried to upgrade TMSPE to 1.4. One thing I didn't do, and it resolved my issue, was restart the server after the TMS upgrade, before attempting to upgrade TMSPE.

I had a similar experience. I didn't attempt to upgrade TMSPE to 1.4 first though, because I tested TMS after upgrading it to 14.6. Testing was giving me all sorts of authentication issues that I was trying to troubleshoot, which disappeared after I restarted the server. It appears a restart is required after the 14.6 upgrade, although the upgrade script and documentation don't mention it.

Yeah, I typically get into a habit of restarting TMS after an upgrade, but I tried to wait until after TMSPE was installed, so I could just do one restart instead of two.
I just checked the TMS 14.6 Install and Upgrade Guide, top of pg 28, step 4. Says that the installer will prompt you "if needed" to restart the server. However, it seems that from our experience, a restart is needed, even though the installer didn't think one really was required.

Hello Josef -
What version of Java are you running? You should be running Java 7 Update 51, before installing TMSPE 1.4.

HI Patrick,
I have Java 7 but I'm not sure which update. I think it's update 67 .
Version 1.3 is still running with java 7 update 67
What does the error JDBC mean ?
Thanks for your help
Josef

In the past, when that type of error comes up when trying to install or update TMSPE, they are using the wrong Java version. Can you attempt to install the required version, Java 7 U51 and try again?

hi yes I will try tomorrow and let you know if it work or not

Hi Patrick,
after uninstall Java Ver sion 7 with update 67 and install Java 7 update 51 the upgrade from TMSPE Version 1.3 to Version 1.4 with tms 14.6 is working fine
