TMS Upgrade - SQL server database backup

Hello,

 

We are upgrading TMS server to v.15.9 and regarding SQL server database, the procedure urges to perform a backup from it. 

Both TMS and SQL server database are located in the same Windows server. 

why it is recommend backing up the server instead of making a snapshot. When snapshoting the TMS, SQL part is also included in this snapshot?

Hi

 

I dont have an exact answer on why backup is preferred over snapshot but in my opinion backing up the DB would simplify your restoration process (incase the server crashes and you need to spindle up a new VM with TMS running on it)
