tpkt: H245 socket closed

Hi all,

Sometimes MCU outputs "tpkt: H245 socket closed" in its event log.

Does this simply mean H.245 socket between the MCU and an endpoint is closed?

I don't know why MCU outputs this message periodically...

Best Regards,

Kotaro Hashimoto

This message indicate MCU lost H.245 TCP session to Endpoint so can’t send H.245 conference message (may discover in multiple ways…).

And yes, this typically happen port timeout management by firewall.

This should indicate MCU has lost H.245 TCP network connectivity to the Endpoint.

I assume you see “Info destroy participant ” log following by “tpkt: H245 socket closed”.

Thank you Taniguchi-san,

As you mentioned, I found those messages following by “tpkt: H245 socket closed”.

Does this mean MCU has closed H.245 socket because RoundTripDelayResponse was not sent from an endpoint?

So if we see many “tpkt: H245 socket closed” messages in MCU's event log, there might had happened network trouble or something?

Hi Taniguchi-san,

I found BugID:CSCua15668 that makes MCU output “tpkt: H245 socket closed” with software version earlier than 4.2.

Our customer uses software version 4.1, so I guess this will be solved when they upgrade their MCU to 4.2 or later.

Please note this CSCua15668 is corrected for unnecessary H.245 socket closed error message during call termination on specific call scenario (due to missing CLC ACK from Endpoint).

If customer only see this ““H245 socket closed” in event log but haven’t experience the unexpected call drop (as CSCua15668 happen during call termination), then software upgrade should resolve unnecessary error message on event log.

Otherwise customer may still see “H245 socket closed” in event log if there is unexpected H.225/H.245 connection drops during the call (and MCU can’t send conference control message to Endpoint over such connection).
