Hi All/Andreas,
I was hoping you could help us with a problem we are experiencing in our lab environment getting one of our Lync 2010 domains and our Video clients talking together.
Basically we have a single video domain (vc.lab@domain.com- and 2 Lync domains lync@domain1.com and lync2@domain2.com
We are using a single VC lync gateway for our lab and a VC control that takes care of all the vc.lab@domain.com registered clients.
The vc.lab@domain.com can place calls with both the lync domains 1 and 2 successfully.
However only Lync domain 1 can communicate with our vc.lab@domain.com. Lync doman 2 users cannot reach any of our VC clients as their presence is showing unknown.
We do not have findMe enabled and would prefer not to do so at this time. (So no registration of FindMe on Lync)
Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.. Is this even possible what we are trying to achieve?
thanks
SC

Using multiple domains and some third domain for shared video endponints for these two domains is at least not the common deployment.
To have better presence support findme is btw a requirement.
If you want to use two different domains you would wither have to look into if the old ocs relay / direct route way could
be a workaround or get two VCS (clusters) one for each lync domain as you can only point to one lync destination
signaling address. Not sure if you could fix the routing to domain2 also within the two lync servers.
If you do not get a better answer / more input here, think of asking your Cisco partner / rep.

Thanks for considering my problem and responding to the issue, Martin - much appreciated it.
A bit of background - we have over 80,000 users in our company, hence the multiple domains...
yes we are working with our Cisco rep...but they are quite busy.. + its cisco live this week
We made some further progress in our lab today and was able to narrow down the issue a bit further.
just some clarification on my original post with the domains .. sorry it wasn't quite clear
there are two pools of lync servers in our lab environment representing production
first.lastname@domain1.com lync users are on pool 1
first.lastname@domain2.com lync users are on pool 2
video endpoints are registered to vcs-c with sip domain "@video.domain1.com"
topology looks like this
vc endpoints -->registered to-->vcs-c---siptrunk-->vcs-gwy---siptrunk--->lync pool 1--->connected to lync pool 2.
calls that work are described correctly in original post
vc endpoints can call out to both lync domains
lync users in domain 1 can call back to vc endpoints
lync users in domain 2 cannot call back to any vc endpoint
Progress today:
if lync users in domain 2 are moved over to domain 1 within lync pool 1, then they too can call any VC endpoint !!
when we move them back to Lync pool 2, they fail (no presence, hence no call)
fundamentally, i need to understand if we need vcs-lync gateway sip trunked to each lync pool?
it seems like as long as there is one lync pool, multiple domains within this pool can call out or be reached by vc endpoints.

We found out the issue and resolved the problem with a single Lync-Gwy and multiple Lync domains.

our SIP trunk from the B2BUA is setup to Lync pool #1
We did not use findMe at all.
However under trusted hosts we listed all servers in Lync pool 1 and Lync pool 2 even though there is no SIP trunk reference to Lync pool 2
