Hi Folks

We are going to upgrade our VCS Control and Expressway on the software version to X7.2.2  from X6.0.When we go the cisco software download site we found that there are two software X7.2.2 with AES encryted and Non AES encrypted. What is the difference between them and how we can know from the VCS which software we need to download for X7.2.2.

Please let me know which software needs to be downloaded to have the system upgraded.

Regards

Tarun

Tarun,

software file s42700 is encrypted and s42701 is non-encrypted. please note from x8.1 there is only one software file available and i.e. encrypted software.

you can check your VCS is running encrypted or non-encrypted version under xstatus output.

You can check in the VCS web interface as well, under Maintenance > Option Keys.  Under active options, if you're running the encrypted VCS software, encryption will be present.

30 Non Traversal Calls, 100 Traversal Calls, 2500 Registrations, Encryption, Interworking, FindMe, Device Provisioning.

In addition to what Patrick and Alok have indicated - you can also see these pieces of information relatively easily on the web interface.

If you log in, you'll see, on the initial Overview Screen, the "Encryption" option showing as mentioned by Patrick.

If you click on Status > System > Information, you'll see the "s42700" or "s42701" as mentioned by Alok.
