Hi All,
I have CUCM 11 and Lync 2013 on premise.
I want to CUCM's client like jabber is able to make a call to Lync's client over video.
Is that possible only with SIP trunk from CUCM to Lync Server and vice versa?
Or we need to have another gateway to do video call between Cisco Jabber and Lync Client?
Very appreciate your reply.
Thanks,
Muhamad

Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your reply.
So, if only cucm and lync (without vcs control or expressway core), how about possibility to do video call between jabber and lync client? Is that possible? Or voice only?
Because there is guide to create sip trunk from cucm directly to lync server.
Here the link.

You need a gateway for video, without it you'll get audio only. Lync/Skype uses their own version of H.264 SVC for video, the standard for most clients, hardware or software, is H.264 AVC. The Expressway/VCS can provide the gateway functionality to handle that switch or CMS (aka Acano), you need one or the other for video interoperability.
