Visca Control Cable - Extend Length

Good day gentlemen... and ladies,

I'm trying to figure the best method for extending a Visca Control Cable for a Precision HD 1080p camera. I recently decommissioned several Cisco Profile 52" carts and disassembled the cameras, and now want to use that camera in a room that hosts a codec C60. The camera would be set as a standalone in the front of the room and then the cable ran neatly to the control room where the C60 resides. I was shooting for 100' just to play it safe but now it looks like there's some limitations on what the maximum length can be in order for the cable to work efficiently and reliably.

I am even wondering if I could just buy a DB9 extender and then attach that to the one end of the Visca cable to make it work. So it would be the RJ45 connected to the "Camera Control" port on back of camera and then feeds the DB9 control cable extender which would then run to the codec C60.

So my question is what's the maximum limit, if there is one, that the Vicsa cable can be run..... as a reliable method.

Thank you in advance

I think it can be any length, but the cameras must be powered locally using their own power supply and not through the camera control cable from the codec.

Good to know, thx. This is the information I've obtained as well from research. I did place the order for 100' HDMI and DB9 and separately purchased a power supply for the Precision cam too. Will update once testing has completed.
