I have several files on the IPTV system from before I took over this positon. They are MP4 files that I cannot seen to delete. When I try to delete them from the broadcast server I get the following message.
There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file maybe in use.
I've tried to delete them via the CM but no luck. Any Ideas of how to fix this problem.

Some session may be active that is why your getting the message. may be either you restart or clear all sessions associated with the server and then delete those files. You can find out the session active from MMC console.

Here is what I do - there may be a simpler solution but this works...
1. Shut down the IPTV Service on the appropriate IPTV server(s) - [Right click on the icon in the system tray and chose SHUTDOWN IP/TV SERVICE]
2. Go th the E:\IPTVMEDIA\ directory on the server and delete those .mp4 files (Your drive letter might differ....)
3. Empty the recycle bin.
4. Restart the IPTV service
