Hi guys,
Just came across an issue with Smart Scheduler after upgrading from TMS 13.0 to 13.2.2 to 14.2 and installing TMSPE1.1.
After 14.2 update was isntalled TMS-PE was successfully installed without any errors.
All menu sections in TMS Web Interface for TMS-PE are active and PE Diagnostics reports 'Green' for all its' Services.
Here's the installation log result:
MSI (c) (94:B4) [17:28:33:682]: Product: Cisco TelePresence Management Suite Provisioning Extension -- Installation completed successfully.
MSI (c) (94:B4) [17:28:33:682]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Cisco TelePresence Management Suite Provisioning Extension. Product Version: 1.1.0.27. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 0.
The issue is that the web page for tmsportal doesn't open and it seems that there's nothing at tms/tmsagent/ IIS folder that may be used as a web-page (there're only 2 config files).
The same happens with the user access link: http(s)://tms1/tms/user/default.aspx
default.aspx contains only the message which certainly will not open any correct page: This is a marker file generated by the precompilation tool, and should not be deleted!
Any help with finding where the correct pages might reside will be very welcome.
Thanks
Leo

So there is no C:\Program Files (x86)\TANDBERG\TMS\wwwprovisioning\bin folder on the file system?

Hi Leonid,
What OS have you installed TMS and TMSPE to? Does the OS have the latest MS SPs and hot fixes installed? If not, update the OS accordingly.
Were you running legacy TMS Agent in 13.x? If so, then you should of upgraded/migrated to TMSPE v1.0 after you upgraded to 13.2.2, then made the 'jump' to 14.2 and 1.1. If you weren't running legacy TMS Agent, then disregard.
And have you installed TMS and TMSPE to the Default Web Site or is it installed to a Custom Web Site within your IIS? But assuming both are under the default website, you should actually see the 'tms' and 'tmsagent' virtual directories directly under the default website, i.e. not under tms/tmsagent...this was the location of the legacy tms agent product and is probably just remnants leftover after your upgrade.
rgds,
Dale

Hi Dale,
OS is Win2008 Std SP2 and it looks all major updates have been installed via GPO. Most recent of those updates are dated with 30/04/2013. Could you give any clues which hotfixes are on the list, because there're only a couple of notes which cover this in Installation Guide for TMS 14.2:
- Enable and apply Windows Updates according to the network policy of your organization.
- Using the latest service pack is recommended for all versions.
TMS Agent was not installed and both TMS and TMSPE are installed in the Default Web Site.
It looks like the installation script of TMSPE didn't create web pages by some reason. At the same time there're no errors in its installation log related to this.
C:\Program Files\TANDBERG\TMS\wwwprovisioning contains 'bin' folder and two files PrecompiledApp.config and Web.config. This path is available as Virtual Directory 'tmsagent' in ISS Default WebSite
Maybe it's good to start with identifying what should be in this virtual IIS folder first, followed by looking for the reason why its not there?
many thanks
Leo

Any help with finding it out?

Hi Leonid,
As discussed:
"you should actually see the 'tms' and 'tmsagent' virtual directories directly under the default website"
I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling TMSPE.
If you get no joy after that, open up a case with TAC

Just for the reference.
Found the reason why this happened.
Smart Sheduler supports only https and although it was enabled for the web site in IIS7, the certificate for it it was not valid.
That's why IIS7 just droped connections to https.
Cheers

Thanks for the follow up Leonid, but that was a bit different than what was being discussed, i.e. not seeing the website in IIS. At any rate, happy to hear your up and running.
