TMS booking of endpoints and DTMF tones

Hello,

We have encountered a problem with TMS booking.  We are currently running 13.2.2 and endpoints are on 6.1, but we have tested this with multiple versions of 5.0 as well.  The problem is that when booking a call between endpoints (No MCU) that if we say add an audio dial in line (we have multisite) the DTMF tones from the template do not carry to the unit to dial out.  Has anyone had this same problem?  If so is there a fix?  We use these same templates for audio dial in for our bridge and the tones go over find there.  It seems to be endpoint specific.

Thank you.

Hi Liam, Is this call dial out scenario H.323 or SIP and what is the exact model details of the devices used.

It is happening on both H.323 and SIP.  We have tried this approach on many different codecs and setups:

SX20 (6.1,6.0,5.1.6,5.1)

EX90 (6.1,6.0,.5.16,5.1)

EX60(6.1,5.1.6)

C40(6.1,5.1.6,5.1)

We are using the scheduler in TMS 13.2.2.  VCS are clustered and on 7.2.2.

Using this same method works when connection is to our 8510 for dialing out.  I should be more clear on exactly what is happening.  The TMS tells the endpoint to dial 800-xxx-xxxx which the endpoint does happily.  Then the DTMF tones should carry over and enter their passcode for them, this is the part that fails.

Hi,

The endpoint APIs TMS relies upon for management do not support adding DTMF tones as part of connection strings. The only systems that support this are the Cisco TelePresence MCU, the Cisco TelePresence MPS, and the TANDBERG MCU – DTMF tones are ignored for all other systems.

In TMS 13.2 and later, there should be a tooltip that says 'This feature is not supported for this system type' if you try to configure DTMF for any other system in participant templates:

Thanks Kjetil that would make a lot of sense.  It is really too bad though it seems like a little bit of an oversight when Cisco has all these scheduling tools and templates.  Does anyone know if this is in the plans to be incorporated at some point?   It would make a lot of people at my company very happy to be able to do this, as everyone has gotten used to doing it this way for the MCU.

Thanks,

Liam
