Today Is International Haiku Poetry Day 2023! Every year on April 17th is International Haiku Poetry Day, an initiative of The Haiku Foundation. If you're unsure what a haiku is, it is an ancient form of Japanese poetry that consists of three lines with the syllable structure “five-seven-five” — although this is contested for being a Western way of teaching the haiku. Japanese haikus also count sounds, not only syllables. They’re also very concise due to their short length.

I do not know why.
My code works.
I do not know why.

Those of you who practice the DevOps methodology might enjoy this one from @DevOpsHaiku a few years ago.

Do you ever think:
“I should be a gardener?”
Or am I alone?

Do you have any favorite haikus or have you tried making some via an AI chatbot?

Code deploys with ease,
DevOps brings harmony,
Tech and teams align.

In screens we're lost,
Pixels glow in endless scroll,
Disconnecting souls.
