UM 4.04sr1, w2003 AD, e2k.
Why does unity sets the "showInAdvancedViewOnly" attribute to TRUE instead of the "msExchHideFromAddressLists" when hidding a subscriber from the Global Address List?
Recent AD forums have reported this as well. In our case, the subscriber needed to be added to a local group and could not be found. Looking via the ADUC, we could see the account but, via the local group GUI it could not be found. After some research, we determined the above settings. The subscriber was configured as follows:
Do not show in phone directory and Show in the e-mail list.
I toggled the show in the e-mail list that changed the "showInAdvancedViewOnly=FALSE" and made the account visible again. I tested this setting. Each time I used Unity to hide the subscriber from the GAL it changed "showInAdvancedViewOnly" attribute to TRUE. Typically, we don't run into this problem since the subscribers that we want hidden are usually generic accounts. However, for some reason this user account was hidden. Which by the way seems to occur often in 4.04sr1 just by making any config changes to a subscriber.

Hi there
We have exactly the same problem with our AD domain. (UM 4.0.4, W2003 AD & E2K) Does anyone know if Cisco have an explanation/reason/answer for this?
Thanks
Simon

Don't want to go too far down the "me too" path, but it did not start happening to us until we introduced a second integration - Call Manager into the system.
Prior to that we had only a serial-Calista integration to our Avaya S8700.
I am planning to upgrade our server to 4.1.1 next week, hoping that the problem will magically go away. To date I have only heard of it happening on 4.0(4) systems with SR1.

In our case, it's a serial integration with an Intecom E14(pointspan) pbx. No callmanager in the picture. Single unity server. single AD domain.
