Adding a failover server to existing Unified server

I have found the links describing how to add a failover server to an existing Unified server but the Unity installation guide states that SQL is required for failover.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_unity/unity40/inst/inst403/ex/ig_016.htm#wp1624071

The guide to adding a failover server does not make any statement about installing SQL instead of MSDE.

Will I have to uninstall MSDE and install SQL on my existing server?

Thanks

Dave

SQL is required but you want to make sure to upgrade rather that un/reinstall. Un/reinstalling would cause you to lose your Unity install. We have info on how to upgrade here:
