Unity 4.0(3) VM Only
Call Manager 3.3(4)
This is a new install. I have already added five hundred users with the Bulk Import tool. In my CSV, I specified the Alias name using the first and last name of the user seperated by a period. (example Tom.Smith). The problem is now when I try to add individual users, the interface refuses to accept the period. It disapears almost as soon as I type it in. I can create the account and then import it, but my client does not want to do this every time. What can I do to get the Unity interface to accept the period?

The web based interface is not going to accept the period in the alias string - you can import existing users (it'll take whatever you have in there for that) but creating new users it will not allow anything other than characters, numbers and uncerscores I believe - there's no setting you can twiddle that will change that behavior in the SA.

During our VoIP implementation, I heard that there is an XML file that you can "hack" that will allow periods. Do you know anything about this file? I do not recall what file it was.

The XML hack is for CUBI - you can adjust which characters are accepted for which fields in there - this does not affect the SA, however...

So the only way to setup users with periods is by using the Bulk Import Tool? Will this change? In 3.1, you were able to use periods.
