Hi.
I have a question about different types of Trunk connection between Call Managers. What is the usage of inter Cluster Trunk and what is difference of that with SIP Trunk?

Hello @Raminkn20
Intercluster Trunk is specifically designed for communication between different CUCM clusters, allowing them to exchange calls and maintain a unified dial plan across multiple locations. SIP Trunks, on the other hand, are more general and are used to connect CUCM with external entities that support the SIP protocol, regardless of whether they belong to the same or different clusters.

Even when connecting different Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) systems, it’s recommended to use SIP trunks. The Intercluster Lookup Service (ILS) feature enables different CUCM clusters to exchange directory URIs with other clusters in an ILS network, making use of SIP trunks.
