Is it possible to provide Captioning on Cisco IP phones running on CUCM 8.0.2? if so, what is the setup process?

Thanks,

David.

You probably want to mention exactly what you're trying to get, if you somehow want the phone to turn the audio into text and display it on the screen, that's a huge NO, otherwise, elaborate on what you want.

Yup, that's actually what I'm looking for.  I have seen other devices such as CapTel 840i which would do this but I'm just not sure how I would bring that into my work environment.

I've also read about ClearCaptions which is a third party software.  I'm just looking for option on how to provide this service to my customer.

What I want to accomplish is to have the voice phone call be transformed into text either on the Cisco phone or any other device that will play "nice" with my Cisco phones.

Hello David,

Sorry for bringing up the old thread.

please suggest.

Hi, hibu-voice@wipro.com,

We signed up with accessaphone. Their support has been fantastic, and the product/service worked first try once spun up, etc. Their site is http://www.accessaphone.com/products/captioning/. We've currently got it up and running and tested and working on 7945, 8841, and 8851 model Cisco phones. I highly recommend giving them a call.

We have a need for a similar product.  Is this a "cloud" or on-premise solution?  How is it licensed? The estimated cost of the solution?
