Dear
hope all is good
Seeking your advise, I need to change the DNS IP address of our CUCM publish and subscribes as well as unity and UCCC with a new DNS server IP. As those nodes are taking old DNS server IP during implementation. What is the Impact and best practice. Please note all my phones currently are taking the new DNS server IP addresses from DHCP.

If all you want to do is change the DNS servers, primary and/or secondary, there aren’t much impact. It will just restart the network and usually you’d loose one or two pings while this happens.

thank you for your support
Yes, as well as we need to update the domain name of each node as they named incorrectly. We have updated the DNA server with their IP address and domain name already
Any advise please

That’s a much bigger deal. Changing that in essence is a change of the name of the server. This is well documented in this document. IP Address and Hostname Changes

thank you for your support Roger
I am pleased to inform you that we have changed the dns server ip address to new one as well as the domain names for all CUCM nodes and im&p pub and sub. All went well.
I just want to know if we need to change Hostname of pub to FQDN for all nodes! Will be impact to the service ? We have almost 2000 phones. I did test the dns from CUCM cli
Admin: utils network host <CUCM FQDN> and it resolves internal and external. We need to do the change because Cisco jabber is not working. Failed connection! Please advise and thank you in advance

I would recommend you to change it on all nodes in the cluster. The impact is a little hard to say without knowing much more about your specific system setup. As always when you do changes that has a potential to impact user facing services it’s recommended to do this during a maintenance window so that the service is well aware of potential impact.
