We have a unity 4.0.5 and callmanager 4.1.3 using g711 between them, but we want to now change it to g729. How can I change it to g729? Please advise. Thank you in advance.

My question is in regards to above link where in step 2.b under the To Change the Message Recording and Storage Codec tasks list. It mentions to install the CiscoUnityDialogicCodec.exe file on the unity server and the server with the voice connector, if applicable. Which server has the voice connector? Is it the exchange server? If so, since we have an off-box exchange server storing their voice messages, it this an applicable scenario that requires me to install the CiscoUnityDialogicCodec.exe on it?

No codecs need to be installed off the Unity server - all codec related activities are done on the Unity server itself or on the client in the case of VMO plug ins (which installs the codecs it needs for the client). No encoding/deocding of WAV files is ever done on the off box Exchange servers...
